UPSKILLING AND HARNESSING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH: Capacity Building, Insights, and Pathways to a Skilled Public Health Workforce. November 2025, Abuja
The AI for Public Health capacity-building workshop brought together 57 mid- to senior-level professionals from 23 organizations, including nine representatives from six government agencies, as well as participants from healthcare institutions, academia, and civil society. The workshop sought to strengthen Nigeria’s readiness for responsible AI adoption in the health sector by deepening understanding of AI principles, fostering knowledge exchange, and exploring practical, context-specific applications, while also addressing ethical, regulatory, and governance considerations.
